Sources, like Agents, Guest Types are used to track the origin types of bookings. Unlike Agents, Sources Guests. Guest Types do not affect pricing, availability or commissions. Sources Guest Types are viewed on the booking details for all guest bookings, See Booking Information, and use in some reports and chosen in the Guest Types drop-down menu in the Booking Details , see Booking Information. Guest Types can also be used as a sort function . Use this function to create Reports, see Reports. Or,to create guest marketing lists and sales reports. Sources in Online Bookings When bookings are made with links that do not have Source assigned, then the system uses the default source WEB.Sources can be used on the website booking process to find out where guest are finding your property. However, this must be enabled in SETUP | SETTINGS | BOOKING ENGINE SETTINGS. Then, select the source. click edit and set it to Yes or No for Publish Online, see Search Bookings. Common Examples of Source Codes: WEBSITE for the properties main website or EMAIL for links added to your outgoing e-mail signature.
To Edit or Add a SourceGuest Type, go to SETUP | PARAMETERS | SOURCESGUEST TYPES. Your list of Sources Guest Types will appear in the default view.
