The Tax Transactions Report displays every taxable transaction posted du= ring the time period selected with the transaction amount and the tax amoun= t charged to that transaction.
Each taxable transaction is reported on the date that the transaction= was posted in the system.Therefore, Room Rent posted during night audi= t will display on the date of night audit. Manual Room Rent charges and add= itional charges will be reported on the date the transaction was posted to = the folio.
When an adjustment or transaction is removed from the folio, it will be = reported on the date the transaction posted to the folio. The report will d= isplay the amount as a negative number in both the "Taxable Charge" and "Ta= x Adjustment" columns. For example, a Room Rent charge of $75 with 10% tax = of $7 is removed from the folio by using the "trash can" icon. The Room Ren= t and the Tax will be removed from the folio and displayed as $-75 in the "= Taxable Charge" column and -$7 in the "Tax Adjustment column. For adjustmen= ts made to bookings outside of the date range chosen in the report. locate = the booking by searching by folio # in the Front Desk.
The Report categorizes transactions by each Tax set up in the system. Fo= r example, the Primary tax (like Occupancy Tax) will display all Room= Rent transactions and a Sales Tax will display all the Transactions with t= he tax applied in Inventory Items. See Tax Configuration. Bookings that have been set to "Tax Exempt"= in the Booking Data of the booking will not appear in this report. See Tax Exempt Report and Booking Data
